Had the opportunity to attend the Why Summits Pharma and Biotech Project, Program and Portfolio Management Conference in Boston. The keynote sessions and panels were incredibly informative. The event showcased numerous innovative technical products and tools that harness the power of AI, enhancing the efficiency of Project, Program, and Portfolio management.

I just returned from a few days with fellow Portfolio and Project management colleagues in Biotech/ life sciences as part of the Why Summits PPM conference at Boston. From being a speaker, to a panelist across a few topics and engaging with such an experienced group of professionals was a great learning experience overall.

What a terrific event Why Summits put on last week in Las Vegas! I had the pleasure to present and to sit on several panels over the course of the three days, focusing on Portfolio decision-making, risk, and new tools to enhance the work we do. I had an amazing time in Vegas last week at the Portfolio Conference by Why Summits, a gathering for industry professionals in the pharma and biotech industry where I delivered a keynote on "Crafting a Competitive AI Strategy in Life Sciences: Approach Recommendations Using the NIH All of Us Program as a Case Study." It was incredibly exciting to share insights from the AI strategy work I've been doing at the NIH All of Us program for the first time. I also led two AI roundtables on strategic decision-making and participated on a panel about "The Art and Science of Decision Making in Biotech.” (…) It was fantastic to meet so many inspiring individuals pushing the boundaries of innovation in this space.

Wrapped up the Why Summit Conference on Project Management, Portfolio Management, and CAPEX in Las Vegas today. Great conference and interactions with all of the attendees! Thank you all for connecting and interacting. Fantastic group of folks that I met there!

It’s been a pleasure to be a presenter and panelist for 4 topics at the #WhySummits in Las Vegas this week. Lots of great learnings and sharing of ideas by the participants. Now I’m re-energized to put some of these thoughts into action with my teams!

Yet another wonderful Why Summits Project and Portfolio Management event. I gain so much from the opportunities to speak to such a receptive and participative audience of diverse colleagues from across the pharma and biotech industries. Meeting new people through engaging conversations and inevitably learning from one another. (...) I am not affiliated with WhySummits, I simply find their events to be consistently high quality and professionally valuable.

Another Why Summits PPM is in the books, this time in fabulous Las Vegas! I really enjoyed reconnecting with friends and making new connections. And one thing is sure: Vegas will always present a photo op!

Audience was great, maybe more variety in industry areas. It can be enlightening to learn from other industries

You had CMOs, CROs, biotechs, and big pharma all in one room. That created richer discussions.

Every conversation I had was relevant. I walked away with clear follow-up actions or next steps.

The Insilico talk on AI clearly showed how important solutions beyond the molecule are - to solve problems like improving adherence and reducing dropouts.

It was especially interesting to hear from one of the companies that managed to move from AI into clinical development candidates.

The application of AI in drug development and the potential for future diagnostics - that’s a personal favorite. I truly believe it has the potential to revolutionize how we do drug development.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interactive and spontaneous discussions on key pharmacovigilance topics, ranging from Gen AI to PV regulatory frameworks. The conference brought together a focused group of PV professionals, providing ample opportunities to connect and network with like-minded individuals. Overall, it was a successful conference and met its objectives.

Participating in the American Drug Safety Summit was a truly rewarding experience. The energy in the room, the depth of conversations, and the shared commitment to transforming pharmacovigilance made it an inspiring and impactful event. I walked away with new perspectives, meaningful connections, and a strong sense of momentum for what’s ahead.

The American Drug Safety Summit 2025 was a great event to learn from industry experts about the evolution of patient safety. It was very interesting to see how AI is being leveraged in data-intensive projects to improve patient outcomes. The introduction to the REMS Industry Consortium was a highlight, and their work is truly inspiring.

I want to express my gratitude to Lubos and the Why Summits team for a well-organized and informative Pharmacovigilance event. Attending this year American Drug Safety Summit 2025 in Boston by Why Summits was an absolute discovery for me. Attendees were not numerous but they represented top-notch leaders from pharma industry in the EU and USA. Discussions were so exciting and constructive - I enjoyed every moment of it. I am truly grateful to Jan, Lubos and Zuzana for such a smart planning of this important event.

This event provided great opportunity to network with Industry peers & thought leaders and explore new ways of working. Especially in the new AI era; “on  how Pharmacovigilence industry is progressing and how we need to adapt to the change”. Insights from presentations and panel discussions are adorable . I left with great ideas and new connections in my network to collaborate with and grow further.

WhySummit's Pharmacovigilance Conference in Boston exceeded expectations for all. As chair, I was impressed by the intimate scale and quality of interactions given how tricky it can be to strike the right balance of being large enough to bring together diverse perspectives and new connections, yet small enough to foster meaningful dialogue and substantive interactions. Both sponsors and attendees valued lively discussions that went beyond typical sessions (and without being overly 'salesy'). Lubos and his team deserve credit for curating a program that was both informative and interactive, creating an environment where PV professionals could truly connect, share and learn from each other. Looking forward to next year!

Fascinating conference with seasoned and insightful industry leaders sharing perspectives into a wide range of topics across program and portfolio management. It was the perfect size – around 120 people – big enough to attract diverse and talented people, but small enough for everyone to engage in meaningful networking. We ended each day with roundtable discussions - small table discussions with the speakers and each other, which allowed us to both learn from each other and get to know our peers. Overall, a great experience and I look forward to returning.

Put on by Why Summits in San Francisco, this was an awesome opportunity to speak to a pharmaceutical / biotech audience. The top reason for anyone to attend a conference is to meet new people, understand how your work lives differ & intersect, and applying what you learn from everyone’s experience & expertise. And as a speaker, I also get a great big dose of clarity on how I can improve next time.

At last week's Why Summits Biotech and Pharma PPM meeting, I met with PMs from a variety of different companies to learn more about how they plan drug discovery projects and some of the challenges they face. Here are some of the key takeaways.

Grateful to have exchanged insights with industry leaders on how to build these connections and unlock potential from within. We continuously strive to implement these best practices at Neuland Laboratories Limited.

I had the pleasure of assisting this year to the first two days of the Portfolio Summit in Basel, where +100 colleagues of +30 companies, discussed the topics of Portfolio, Projects, and CapEx in a very open and inviting environment.
